18th June Green Week opens at The Spring
BIGGER & GREENER
Last year we launched the first ever Havant Green Week and called it Havant Goes Greener. Lots of people told us that we should do the same in 2012 and so we have and it’s going to be bigger and greener.
HOW TO GO GREEN
We’re going to visit every shopping centre throughout the week with our big green caravan packed full of information on how to be greener and save money.
SHOP LOCAL
We hope to get some shops to join the fun in our Shop Local campaign with competitions and prizes.
GROW YOU OWN FOOD
If you fancy growing your own food or raising chickens even keeping bees, we’ll provide experts to show you how to get the best results.
THINK BIKE
Our borough cycleway network is growing all the time and with it the number of cyclists. The Cycling Touring Club are providing local rides to help cyclists of all ages to rediscover the joys of seeing Havant by bike.
ECO TRAIL
A local ECO trail will help people see for themselves how local residents have gone greener with solar energy, wood burning, better insulation and other measures to reduce their carbon footprint.
GREEN FAIR
The highlight of the week is the Havant Goes Greener Family Fair on the 23rd June in Havant Park. Crafts, Foods, Games, Eco Products, Groups to join and support, Live Music all day and Angel Radio adds up to Havant’s greenest summer show.
